Description
BRASS AND CERAMIC PALE MIDNIGHT TABLE LAMP
Lead with the material and the numbers tell the rest of the story. At 27.3 pounds, the Mitzi Zadeh brass and ceramic table lamp is not a lightweight decorative afterthought — it is a grounded, architecturally substantial object that earns its place on any surface it occupies. The combination of aged brass and pale midnight ceramic is one of those material pairings that works because neither element competes with the other — the warm, oxidized metal and the cool, muted ceramic exist in genuine tension, creating a lamp that reads differently depending on the light conditions and the palette of the room around it. Produced by Hudson Valley Lighting under the Mitzi label, the Zadeh reflects a design sensibility that is contemporary without being cold, and considered without being precious.
Elegant Design Details
The aged brass finish is not bright or polished — it carries the warmth of a material that has been allowed to develop character, with tonal variation across its surface that a new brass finish simply cannot replicate. Against the pale midnight ceramic base, this oxidized quality adds depth and contrast that makes the lamp feel collected rather than purchased. The pale midnight glaze sits in a color space between soft blue-grey and deep dusk, shifting subtly depending on the ambient light around it. At 7.5 inches wide at the base, the Zadeh has a footprint that is precise and composed, keeping the lamp visually upright and intentional even at its considerable 27.3-inch height.
Soft, Ambient Illumination
The Zadeh is designed for intimacy rather than intensity — with a maximum output of 15 watts and compatibility with a single standard base bulb, this is a lamp built for atmosphere. The low wattage produces a warm, close glow that suits bedside tables, reading corners, and living room side tables where layered, soft illumination is the goal. The switch-on-socket control keeps operation simple and immediate, with no separate wall switch or smart integration required. What it lacks in raw brightness it more than compensates for in the quality and warmth of the light it produces.
Size & Functional Features
Standing at 27.3 inches tall and 19.0 inches wide, the Zadeh is scaled for surfaces where presence and proportion both matter — a generous bedside table, a living room console, or a study side table where the lamp is as much a design object as a functional one. The 27.3-pound weight is a direct reflection of the ceramic and brass construction — this is a lamp that sits with complete authority and will not shift. The 8.0-foot cord is one of the more generous cord lengths in its category, providing meaningful flexibility in outlet placement without requiring an extension. Switch-on-socket control and standard base bulb compatibility ensure setup is immediate from the moment it is positioned.
