BLUE AND WHITE CYLINDER TABLE LAMP

BLUE AND WHITE CYLINDER TABLE LAMP

The blue and white cylinder table lamp. Light blue and white fretwork over a cream crackled ground — the Ming Fretwork collection by Port 68 draws directly from the visual language of classic English lattice patterns and translates it onto a handcrafted porcelain cylinder column with the kind of decorative precision that makes a blue and white cylinder table lamp worth examining up close. The fretwork pattern is applied over a crackled cream background finish, the fine network of crazing beneath the blue and white surface adding a layer of antique character that reinforces the historical reference without tipping into reproduction territory. A quatrefoil acrylic base lifts the porcelain column above the table surface with an architectural flourish, its geometric profile echoing the fretwork motif from below. Polished nickel finish hardware runs through the fittings and finial with cool metallic clarity, and an off-white polyester fabric drum shade completes the composition with restrained neutrality. Because each piece is handcrafted and kiln-fired at extremely high temperatures, slight variations in glaze color and pattern are inherent — making this blue and white cylinder table lamp genuinely individual in a way that a factory-finished shade of these table lamps simply cannot be.

Elegant Design Details

The fretwork pattern applied to the porcelain cylinder is the lamp’s defining visual element, and Port 68 executes it with the kind of surface detail that rewards close attention. The light blue cylinder table lamp lattice sits cleanly against the white ground, its geometric regularity offset by the organic irregularity of the crackled cream background beneath — a combination of controlled pattern and natural variation that gives these table lamps a layered, collected quality. The quatrefoil acrylic base is a sophisticated supporting detail — its four-lobed geometry referencing the fretwork vocabulary of the lamp body while introducing a material contrast between transparent acrylic and the opaque porcelain above. Polished nickel finish hardware at the neck and finial provides a cool metallic accent that complements the blue and white palette without introducing the warmth of brass or gold, maintaining the lamp’s inherently fresh, blue-and-white sensibility throughout.

Soft, Ambient Illumination

The off-white polyester fabric drum shade — 17 inches at the top, 18 inches at the bottom, and 12 inches on the slant — diffuses light into a broad, even spread well-suited to living rooms, bedrooms, and sitting rooms where the lamp functions as both a decorative focal point and a practical ambient source. The slight taper from top to bottom gives the shade a gentle directional quality, pushing more light downward and outward across the surrounding surface. The 3-way socket switch provides three distinct brightness levels from a maximum 150-watt 3-way bulb, not included, giving full control over output from a soft evening glow to a bright, well-lit reading level. The base-to-shade-bottom measurement of 19 inches ensures the light source sits at an effective height for ambient distribution.

Size & Functional Features

At 32 inches tall with a 6.5-inch square base footprint, this lamp is proportioned for side tables, nightstands, and console surfaces where a tall, slender profile and significant decorative presence are equally important. The 18-inch shade bottom width delivers generous light coverage well beyond the lamp’s compact base footprint, making it effective as a primary ambient source in smaller rooms or a refined accent source in larger ones. At 10 pounds, the porcelain and acrylic construction is manageable and easy to reposition while remaining stable under normal use. The handcrafted and kiln-fired production process means glaze color and surface variation may differ slightly from images — a characteristic that adds to the lamp’s artisanal identity rather than detracting from it.
