Description
Lantern Floor Lamp, Murano Glass Marble-Vein Design
This lantern floor lamp takes its silhouette from traditional lanterns of the Far East, its shade entirely handmade using centuries-old Murano glassmaking techniques.
About This Murano Glass Lantern Floor Lamp
Standing 186.5 cm (73.43 in) tall on a brass structure, the shade is built by fusing a series of colored matte glass rods onto a mass of white opal glass, creating natural-looking streaks similar to the veining in stone. After tempering, the glass is hand-worked to a matte finish rather than left glossy.
A warm 3000K LED illuminates the shade from within, dimmable to shift the mood from a soft glow to a fuller light source.
It sits within our Floor Lamps collection, alongside other genuinely material-driven lighting like our Gold Leaf Floor Lamp – both chosen because real glasswork and metalwork carry the entire design.
It brings a genuinely different lighting tradition into a contemporary room, rather than reinterpreting a European lamp shape.
Fusing colored glass rods onto a base of white opal glass to mimic natural stone veining is a genuinely demanding technique – the artisan has to control exactly how the colored glass melts and spreads during the fusing process, since too much heat blurs the streaks into a muddy blend, while too little leaves them disconnected rather than reading as a continuous vein.
The choice to hand-work the tempered glass to a matte finish, rather than leaving it glossy, is what gives the shade its stone-like quality – a glossy surface would read as obviously glass, while the matte finish lets the material trick the eye into seeing something closer to alabaster or marble.

Styling a Murano Glass Lantern Floor Lamp
Place it in a living room corner or beside a reading chair where its stone-like glass texture can genuinely be appreciated both lit and unlit. As a lantern floor lamp, it suits an eclectic or globally-inspired interior that layers different design traditions rather than sticking to a single European style. Give it a spot with enough surrounding space to let its silhouette and warm glow register clearly.
Why It’s Worth It
Every lantern floor lamp in the Exotic Decor USA collection is globally sourced from independent artisans, then inspected for quality before it ships, backed by free shipping across the US. What stands in your room is a genuinely hand-fused Murano glass piece with real stone-like veining, not a printed or molded imitation that flattens the texture into a uniform pattern.
A lantern floor lamp that turns centuries-old Murano glassmaking into a genuinely warm, sculptural glow.
